About this Wooden Fish
Tapping a wooden fish when work gets stressful is a popular "digital merit" stress-reliever of late. This Wooden Fish recreates the feel of wood tapping: each click plays a short low-frequency sound, the fish dips and springs back, "merit +1" floats up the screen, and the count is saved in your browser — kept across refreshes and future visits.
Keyboard supported — Space works too, perfect for zoning out in meetings.
How to use
- Tap the fish (or press Space) — +1 merit per hit
- Click the "Sound" button to toggle audio
- Merit auto-saves in your browser and survives refresh
- Click "Reset merit" to start over
FAQ
Is merit saved?
is stored in your browser's localStorage — it survives refreshes and reopening. "Reset merit" clears the count.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The page is mobile-adapted — just tap the fish; audio plays normally after the first tap once the system lifts its audio restriction.
Why is there no sound?
Browsers only allow audio after user interaction — one tap on the fish and sound works; also check whether the "Sound" switch at the top right has been turned off.
